Purple (Ruby) Kyanite

General Information: Purple Kyanite is a rare and beautiful variety of the aluminum silicate mineral kyanite displaying soft violet to purple coloration. Like all kyanite, it forms in bladed crystal shapes and has the unusual property of having very different hardness in different directions (anisotropism).
