General Information: Purple Agate is a violet to purple-toned chalcedony, which may occur naturally (rare) or be produced by dyeing white or pale gray agate. Many commercial Purple Agates are color-enhanced. Natural purple agates gain their color from manganese or iron oxide impurities.
