Citrine

General Information: Citrine is the yellow to golden-orange variety of quartz, colored by trace amounts of iron. Natural citrine is relatively rare; much commercially sold citrine is heat-treated amethyst or smoky quartz, which produces the characteristic golden-orange color.

Origin Locations: Brazil (primary), Spain, Madagascar, Russia, and the United States. Natural citrine is also found in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
