Black Moss Agate

General Information: Black Moss Agate is a variety of chalcedony (agate) featuring dark black or dark green moss-like dendritic inclusions of manganese or iron oxide within a translucent to semi-opaque base. It is a grounding variation of the classic Moss Agate family.

Metaphysical Properties: Black Moss Agate carries a deeply grounding, stabilizing energy that connects the holder strongly to the Earth and the present moment. It is believed to absorb and neutralize negative energies from both the environment and the emotional body. Identification Tips: Translucent to semi-opaque base with dark black or very dark green moss/dendritic inclusions; waxy luster; hardness 6.5–7; inclusions do not move when the stone is tilted.
